Mary Baker Design
In the spring of 2004 Mary Baker launched her first website, Mary Baker Art. The website, Mary Baker Art, was designed by Missy Chabot of Chabot Web Design, who has been an amazing influence and inspiration to Mary Baker. Determined to learn how to update the website herself, Mary got hooked on teaching herself how to design websites and blogs.
Mary Baker also became determined to learn how to make websites rank high on search engines (SEO). Mary became one of 75,000 editors for the Human Directory Project, DMOZ, the directory owned by Netscape and used by Google. She haunted forums like Webmaster World. Mary Baker became very successful at getting her own websites to rank high in search engines for applicable key words. Mary would be happy to share what she learned with you (for a price).
In 2005 Mary Baker launched her first blog, Mary Baker Art Blog, which was soon followed by The Newburyport Blog. Both are widely read by people all over the world. And after three years of writing almost every day, Mary has become very astute about writing “Content Management” and “Internet Publishing.” If you need help with writing content for your website or blog, Mary Baker would be glad to be of assistance (for a price).
In 2005 Mary taught herself about designing and troubleshooting blog software, WordPress software in particular. If you need assistance with the design or technicalities of blog software, Mary would be very happy to be of service to you (for a price).
However, what is not “for a price” are the blog/websites that Mary Baker has created that are free, that are for public use, and can be downloaded here at Mary Baker Design. If you look to the right side of Mary Baker Design, you will see a list under “Free Designs.” These free websites are in WordPress content management form, i.e. you can create and update the subject matter of your website or blog any way you like, without the help of a professional website designer. And you can also make the designs look either like a website or a blog, or a combination of both.
If you are puzzled with what to do with your free website after you have downloaded it, please feel free to contact Mary Baker Design, and Mary Baker will be happy to set up your website and show you how to use it (for a price).
